The Kids Connection school age childcare program is a community service program that provides care for school age children during the school year and summer. This program is available to all students entering grades K-6 in the New Ulm Community. School age care is a student choice program where children will be offered options to participate in a variety of group and individual activities such as arts & crafts, games, sports, science and leadership opportunities. Kids Connection also offers assistance with homework and reading time for those students that request it. Kids Connection grades 1-6 is located in the Annex Building while our Kindergartners are located at the Washington Learing Center.

Little Kids Connection (KC) is in its 2nd year of programming and we are growing! Little KC is a ready for preschool experience with an enriching assortment of age appropriate social/emotional and literacy activities. Little KC will provide our preschool students with a nurturing environment while carefully guiding them towards the more structured classroom experience ahead. Little KC is open before and after preschool and during the summer months. Little KC is located at the Washington Learning Center.

Summer Kids Connection & Little KC will begin on Monday, June 11. Due to the growth of the program children who are Pre-K to grade 3rd grade will be in the Annex Building and students in grades 4th-6th will be in the Middle School. Our field trips are the highlight of the summer. Waterparks, MN Lynx and a Twins game are just a few on the schedule for this summer! While our field trips are the highlight of the summer we do partner and offer daily activities through Park N’ Rec., 4H, Oak Hills, MRCI and the Public Library. Kids will again work with Mrs. Sletta in the Jefferson garden and swim at the Recreation Center.

Kids Connection & Little KC are committed to staffing the program with qualified and caring staff. To ensure the safety of the children in the program, all staff must pass a criminal and protection background check and complete CPR & First Aid Training with in 90 days of employment.
