Lowell Vincent Peterson

GIBBON–Lowell Vincent Peterson, age 88, of Gibbon, passed away on April 24, 2026 at The Lodge Assisted Living in Winthrop. Lowell was born on October 16, 1937 in New Ulm to Melvin and Myrtle Peterson of Gibbon. One of four children, he attended grade school and high school in Gibbon. Following high school, he attended Bethel College in St. Paul and went on to further studies at Fort Wayne college in Indiana. After a period of employment in Minneapolis, he returned to his home town to work with his father in the gravel business. Lowell enjoyed spending spring, summer and fall on the road with truck driving.
Lowell is survived by his sister, Phyllis (Jerome) Taylor of Pine River, nephew, Michel (Rebecca) Lagerwall of rural Gibbon, nieces, Lisa (Sean) Kaneski and Kathy (Phillip) Martin of Pequot Lakes, Marnie (Christopher) Huntley of Minneapolis, and 12 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anna Louise Lagerwall and brother-in-law Edward Lagerwall, sister Melva Jane Peterson, and niece Michelle Thorson.
Lowell was raised and baptized at Clear Lake Baptist church to which he faithfully attended and had a strong faith. Over the years he loved being creative, enjoyed family gatherings, and could always be found participating in games, playing cards, working on puzzles and visiting with those around him.
A private family service will be held at the grave side. Blessed be his memory.
