Jeffrey Scott Schmucker was born on the 4th of July, 1953 in New Ulm, MN. He attended public school in New Ulm from kindergarten to graduation in 1971. During his school years he participated in golf, basketball, a little football, played the trombone and swam. He also worked at the drug store that used to be owned by his family. After high school, Jeff attended Mankato State University. During these years he was a lifeguard, an EMT and worked on the Friday night sanitation crew at Kraft Foods. Following graduation from MSU Jeff attended the College of Mortuary Science in San Francisco. Jeff did his internship, as a funeral director, at the Fred Olsen Mortuary in Duluth, MN. He met Sue Pieper while living in Duluth. They married in March 1978 and made their first home in New Ulm. During the next several years they lived in Morgan, MN and Fairmont, MN. Jeff and Sue welcomed their two children during this time, as well. In 1996 the family moved back to New Ulm. Jeff was able to purchase the funeral home that he proudly owned and operated until 2012. When he sold the business, Jeff and Sue moved to Eden Prairie. Jeff worked several jobs in the metro related to the funeral business until he retired in 2017.
