OLIVIA–Elsie Heutinck, age 85, of Olivia, MN passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday July 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant. Burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.

Elsie Marie Heutinck was born on January 26, 1940 to Jacob and Mary (Roeder) Kubesh at home on a farm in rural Olivia. She graduated from Olivia High School in 1959. She had one son, Lenny. Growing up and throughout her adult life, Elsie demonstrated an amazing work ethic. She was dedicated to working on the farm southeast of Olivia, from picking chicken eggs to gardening and milking cows. Elsie was a character, to know her was to love her. She had a great sense of humor. Her creativity was evident to see through her drawing skills, and she cherished the art of making greeting cards for others. Her afternoons were spent playing cards with friends, and she especially loved winning at Bingo! For the past 10 years, Elsie resided with her Traditions Family at Traditions Apartments in Olivia. A devoted member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Elsie’s faith was a significant part of her life. She had a love of all animals but especially kitties, dogs, and birds.

Elsie is survived by her sister, Bernice Rubischko of Gibbon; her nieces and nephews: Timothy Rubischko, Linda Banks, Anthony Rubischko, Allen Rubischko, and Mary Dallmann; many great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Leonard “Lenny” Heutinck; and brothers, Jacob Kubesh and Jim Kubesh.
