Sharon Elaine Zupan

MADISON, MN–Sharon Elaine Zupan, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Madison Healthcare Center in Madison, Minnesota. Mass of Christian burial was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Madison, Minnesota. Father Shawn Polman was the Celebrant of the Mass. Special music was provided by Jennifer Wittnebel, organist, Lisa Haas and St. Michael’s Choir. Burial was in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Madison, Minnesota.

Sharon was born on April 4, 1942, to parents Orval and Helen (Drexler) Fiemeyer in New Ulm, Minnesota. The family resided in Courtland, Minnesota. Sharon attended elementary school in Courtland, Minnesota, middle school at St. Mary’s in New Ulm, Minnesota and graduated from New Ulm Public School, New Ulm, Minnesota. After high school, Sharon worked at the John Oster Company in New Ulm, Minnesota as Administrative Secretary.

Sharon met and married her husband, Lyle Zupan, in Courtland, Minnesota. They were married in St. Mary’s Catholic Church on April 12, 1961, in New Ulm, Minnesota. To this union 3 children were born. Lyle and Sharon moved to Madison, Minnesota in 1966. She was employed by Whites Shoes in Madison from 1975- 1979. Sharon then finished her career at Madison State Bank/United Prairie Bank and retired in 1998.

In life, Sharon enjoyed camping, golfing, dancing, going to musicals, cooking as she was an excellent cook. Sharon took pride in keeping a very well-kept home.

In retirement, Sharon and Lyle enjoyed going on trips and eventually purchased a winter home in Mesa, Arizona where they spent their winters.

Lyle and Shron were married for 62 years. Sharon is lovingly remembered by her 3 sons: Brian and Sharilyn Zupan of Dallas, Texas, Brent and Sharla Zupan of Madison, Minnesota, Bruce and Kim Zupan of Prior Lake, Minnesota; grandchildren Timothy (Heather) Zupan, Thomas (Hillary) Zupan, Tara (Seth) Haas, Taylor (Matt) Rachey, Jordan Zupan and Kylie Zupan; great-grandchildren Brielynn, Rhett and Case Zupan, Zane, Miles, Cru Zupan, Everly Haas and Ellie Haas; and Hudson Rachey, Sharon’s brother Alan (Butch) Fiemeyer.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Zupan, her parents Orval and Helen Fiemeyer, mother and father-in-law Ray and Virgina Zupan.
