Judyann Marie Goulet (Kiecker)

Judyann Marie Goulet (Kiecker) went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 29th 2024.

Judy was born on December 12th, 1943 in New Ulm, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm with her parents, Alfred and Olga Kiecker. Judy was the 3rd of four children. Her siblings were: Roger, Stanley, and Bradley Kiecker. Judy graduated from Fairfax High School in Minnesota when she was 17 years old. After high school, she met the love of her life, Ed Goulet and they were married in a small town outside of Vail, Colorado in 1967. They had two children, Tracie and Ed. They raised their children in Yampa, Colorado on a ranch where she spent her days working cattle, helping her children show in 4-H, keeping the books for the ranch, and spending time in nature. Her love for all things outdoors was undeniable. After she lost the love of her life in 1988, Judy became a traveling gypsy. She earned her undergraduate degree from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado and continued her education to earn her master’s degree in Range Science and Ecosystems from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado.

She had an adventurous life. Some of her accomplishments included: being on the ski patrol in Steamboat Springs, Co., working for the Forest Service and fighting forest fires in Colorado & Oregon, co-author of the book: “Wild Mammals of South Dakota”, and teaching college classes at several different institutions. She retired from Colorado Mountain College, where she taught biology, in 2015 and moved to Boerne, Tx where she lived out her final years of life with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her brother, Bradley Kiecker and wife Cheryl, from Fairfax, Minnesota, her daughter, Tracie Goulet and son Ed Goulet and wife Emiley from Boerne, TX. Grandchildren: Wyatt Kihlstrom, Emily Curry & husband Johnathan from San Antonio, Layla Weaks and Eadie Goulet from Boerne, TX. Great grandchild Presley Ann Curry due in March 2025.

The Family will have a private graveside service to honor her life at South Routt Cemetery, Colorado.
