Lorna June Weedman

June 16, 1932-June 1, 2024

NEW ULM–Lorna June Weedman, age 91, of New Ulm (formerly of Clements), passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, MN with her niece and great niece by her side.

Memorial service will be Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Tim Anderson will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date.

Lorna June Weckwerth was born June 16, 1932 to Emil and Edna (Schleusner) Weckwerth on the family farm in Stately Township, Brown County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. Lorna attended school in Dotson and Springfield.

On June 16, 1950, Lorna was united in marriage to Lowell Weedman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN. Lorna and Lowell lived their entire married life in Clements, where Lorna worked in the grocery store and café part time. They had one son, Kevin.

After her husband passed away, Lorna moved to an apartment in New Ulm. In 2021, Lorna moved to the Oak Hills Living Center.

Lorna enjoyed flowers, bird watching, playing cards, visiting and time spent with children.

Lorna is survived by her sister, Judy Kelley of Minneapolis; her brothers, Arnold Weckwerth of New Ulm, Allen (Leona) Weckwerth of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell Weedman; her son, Kevin Weedman; her sister, Lorraine Polzin; and her brother, Lloyd Weckwerth.

Lorna has donated her body to the University of Minnesota Medical School Anatomy Bequest Program.

The family prefers memorials to: Oak Hills Memorial Foundation, New Ulm, MN or Christ the King Lutheran Church, New Ulm, MN.
