NICOLLET — Harlan “Harley” Harrison Blank, age 85 of Nicollet died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center in Sleepy Eye.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at the Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm. Pastor Gerhardt Miller will officiate, and burial will take place in the Zion Cemetery in rural Nicollet.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Oakwood United Methodist Church.

Social distancing guidelines must be practiced at all times, and all guests in attendance at the visitation and funeral will be required to wear a mask.

Harlan is survived by his sister, Lois Steece of rural Nicollet; his brother, Clifford (Judy) Blank of rural Nicollet; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Blank of rural Nicollet, Carollee Blank of Kasota; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Blank in 2018; his brothers, Vernon, Lowell, and Earl Blank; his sister-in-law, Elaine Blank; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Steece.

Harlan “Harley” Harrison Blank was born July 28 ,1935, in Nicollet to Clarence and Lillian (Miller) Blank. He was a 1954 graduate from Nicollet High School. On Sept. 10, 1977, Harlan was united in marriage to Mary Fitzner at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland. Harley worked his career as a dedicated crop and livestock farmer working on his family farm in rural Nicollet for many years before retiring. When he wasn’t working on his farm, Harley enjoyed taking in a Minnesota Gophers game, or cheering for the local high school sports teams. Harley was a dedicated member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church of New Ulm. Although Harley has passed, many great memories will forever stay in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. Blessed be those memories.
