Doris is survived by her daughters, Jo McKay & Duane Prinzing of Randolph, Joyce Johnson & Bradley Hale of New Ulm; grandchildren, Alex (fiancé, Claire Leonard) McKay, Ben McKay, Dezi Prinzing, Delaney Prinzing, Brandon (special friend, Bailey Ahlers) Hale, Jessica Hale; sister, Verna Neumann of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Ardis Johnson of Madelia; special dogs, Blitz & Buzz; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon Johnson; siblings in infancy, Anna Koop and Henry Koop; brother, Wallace Koop; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Doris Ella Koop was born March 19, 1931 to Henry & Anna (Tauer) Koop in New Ulm. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. On February 8, 1958, Doris was united in marriage to Gordon Johnson in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with two children, who were raised out on the family farm. Doris dedicated her life to raising her children and helping Gordy on the farm. She also spent time working at Stork’s and as an active church member.

Doris was a very caring woman. From teaching Sunday School to treating all her friends and family with her beloved Corn Picker Pie, Doris always left a good impression on everyone she met. Her famous line was “drive careful!” with a finger point so you knew that she meant business. Doris also had a dedicated birthday club, which was a tradition of people getting together to celebrate each other’s birthday. They were even able to get one more birthday celebration in for Doris this year.

Above all else, Doris loved all the time she was able to spend with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
