A private mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 1, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda.

Interment will be at the St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery in Wanda.

The funeral procession leaves the church and travels to St. Mathias Cemetery on Main Street for a private family burial on Friday at approximately 11:40-11:50 a.m. Please do not follow the procession to the cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.

Donald Schumacher was born on February 28, 1933, in Leavenworth Township, 6 miles southwest of Sleepy Eye, to Carl and Loretta (Helget) Schumacher. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea in 1953-55.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Redwood Falls; children Melanie Schumacher of Montgomery, Randall Schumacher of Livingston, MT, Mark Schumacher of Kamakura, Japan, Gina Sarge of Raleigh, NC, Pat Whittaker of Wanda, and Tim Schumacher of Roseville; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters Bernice Manderfeld and Marjorie Friederich; brothers Myron Schumacher and Jim Schumacher.
