Walter “Sonny” William Wiese
COMFREY — Walter “Sonny” William Wiese, 92, of Comfrey, died on October 4, 2019, at Gil Mor Manor in Morgan.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey.
Memorial mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church on Friday, October 11, at 10:30 a.m.
A parish prayer service will be held on Thursday, October 10, at 6:45 p.m. at the church.
A private family Inurnment will be at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
Walter “Sonny” William Wiese was born on October 17, 1926, to Walter and Emma (Matzke) Wiese in Springfield. He was drafted into the U.S. Army from March 1945 to August 1946 and served in Japan.
He is survived by his daughters Bonnie Schleif of Comfrey and Mary Beth Mathiowetz of Grand Chute, Wis.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
