NEW ULM — Ervin W. Jobe, age 88, of New Ulm, died Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Gene Alms officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. The New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Kimberly Jobe of New Ulm; a son, David (Kristi) Jobe of Thief River Falls; two grandchildren, Ashley and Kelby Jobe, who were the light of his life; a brother, Harold (Julie) Jobe of White Bear Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dean Jobe; sisters, Mildred Larson, Lorna Jobe, and Harriet Zuehlke; and a brother, Orville Jobe.

Ervin Wilbert Jobe was born on Jan. 21, 1931 in New Richland Township to Wilbert & Hildegarde (Dalluge) Jobe. He lived and farmed with his parents in Lafayette until 1953. Ervin served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked for Kraft Foods from 1953 until his retirement in 1993. On March 29, 1958 Ervin was united in marriage to Joyce Radl at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He was a member of the American Legion Post 132 and the New Ulm Baseball Hall of Fame. Ervin loved to fish, bowl, play cards, old time music, hockey, and baseball. He was umpired baseball for 26 years and was on the New Ulm Baseball Board for 15 years. Ervin will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Blessed be his memory.
