Morris Iverson

Morris R. Iverson, 98, of Litchfield died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at Good Samaritan in Waconia.

Morris Reuben Iverson, son of Ingvald and Dina Iverson was born July 3, 1919 in Bernadotte.

Morris served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was stationed in Kodiak, Alaska. He returned to Minnesota where he married Victoria Zupfer on May 25, 1946 and started their family in New Ulm while he worked and learned the dry cleaning business through the GI Bill. They moved to Gaylord, and owned Gaylord Dry Cleaners for 37 years. After closing the business, they lived on a hobby farm outside of Gaylord and Morris managed Arlington School swimming pool for ten years. After retiring, they moved to Lake Minnebelle and then to Litchfield. In 2002, Victoria passed away.

Morris was a good man who loved to be around his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motor toys, horseshoes, billiards, raising fowl and collecting antiques. He traveled the U.S., Alaska and Norway.

He is survived by four children, Lanette Rauenhorst, AZ, Ronald (Jane) Iverson, AZ, Jacquelyn (Glenn Magoon) Iverson, Litchfield, Troy (Christine) Iverson, Chaska, and daughter-in-law Ava Iverson; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister Gretchen Wollin, Litchfield and brother Denis Iverson, New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Victoria, six sisters, four brothers, son Sonny, son-in-law Tony Rauenhorst and infant daughter.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 25 in the chapel at Ecumen Bethany, 203 N. Armstrong Ave, Litchfield, followed by a private interment for Morris and Victoria at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
