Laura was born January 10, 1984 to Mark and Deanne (Keepers) Rengstorf in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from Nicollet High School in 2003 and continued her education at Hutchinson Community College. On October 4, 2008 Laura married the love of her life, William Fischer, and they made a loving home for their family in Mankato. Laura worked for Pathstone Living, where she cared for her patients with compassion and affection. She was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church.

Laura’s proudest accomplishment was being the mother of Carter and Chloe, and her natural warmth with her children was obvious to all who knew her. She was quick to laugh and quick to hug. Some of her most treasured times were spent with friends and family at the cabin on Lake Belle Taine, where she loved floating on the pontoon, beer, and bonfires. She was a sensitive and perceptive daughter and had a special bond with her dad. He always said she was his “Little Laura.”  In keeping with Laura’s generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so that others may live.

We are all grateful to have had her in our lives and will miss her more than words can describe. Our tribe will gather and care for her children, and she will live on in our protection of them, in our passions, in our parties, and in our prayers.

Laura is survived by her husband, William; two children, Carter and Chloe; parents, Mark Rengstorf and Deanne Keepers; sisters, Emily (Brian) Simon, Rebecca (Lee) Hutchens; grandparents, Don and Liz Keepers; father-in-law, Dennis (Deb) Fischer; mother-in-law, Grace Fischer (Stan Hinderman); brothers-in-law, Keith (Ashley) Fischer, Brad (Ashley) Fischer; step-sisters-in-law, Angie (Adam) Lindeman, Emily Brown, Sarah (Nick) Forbrook; grandmother-in-law, Phyllis Fischer; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Wes and Myra Rengstorf; and cousin, Thomas May.
