Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A private family burial will take place in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel. Visitation will continue on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Virginia is survived by her son, Bill (Barbara) Roberts of Burnsville, MN; her daughters, Barbara Roby of New Ulm, Katie (John) Kerpon of Flower Mound, TX and grandson Kyle Kerpon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Garfield Roberts and her sisters, Coletta (John) Postel, Marian (Leo) Schmitz, and Dorothy (Herman) Raabe.

Virginia Ann Roberts was born on January 4, 1922 to Henry and Appolonia (Meidl) Diepolder in Nicollet County. She went to Holy Trinity Schools and to beauty school after graduation. She worked as a hair dresser until marrying Peter G. Roberts on March 29, 1948. They farmed near Searles until moving to New Ulm in 1971.

While on the farm, Virginia was active in the Cambria Legion Auxiliary and a 4-H leader. In town she was a former member of the New Ulm Country Club and had a passion for antiques.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Ulm.
