Visitation will be on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, MN.

Service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn on Saturday at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Pastor Matthew Sprunger. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Sanborn, MN.

Lamoine Gilbert “Mike” Leopold was born July 10, 1927 to Arthur and Emma (Pape) Leopold in Sanborn, MN. He attended and graduated from Sanborn Public Schools. After his schooling, he took over the family farm and also sold seed for Pioneer Seeds, retiring in 1990. On November 10, 1947, he was united in marriage to Marguerite Otto in Sanborn. Mike enjoyed fishing, playing cards especially pinochle, trips to Jackpot, playing bingo, and traveling. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, served on the Sanborn school board, and also the cemetery board.

He is survived by his wife Marguerite; children – Carol (Vern) Hillesheim of Sanborn, Doug (Denese) Leopold of Springfield, Don (Beth) Leopold of Redwood Falls, Marilyn Dammann of Duluth, Donna (Ken) Middle of Muscatine, IA, Gail Leopold of Redwood Falls, Tim (Linda) Leopold of Galesville, WI, and Michelle (Chad) Hammill of Willmar; and 22 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Laura; great granddaughter Lilly Jean; brothers – Melvin and Wayne; sister Ethel Thram; and son-in-law Brad Dammann.
