Lillian “Lil” Schiller

NEW ULM — Lillian “Lil” Schiller, 94, of New Ulm died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Grant Bode officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday. Lillian is survived by her sons, Jim (Terri) Schiller, Alan (Kathy) Schiller, Dean Schiller; grandchildren, Angela Schiller, Andrew (Sara) Schiller, Katie (Mike) Becherer, Kristin Schiller; five great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin Schiller; sisters, Elizabeth Hansen, Cleona Bliss, Viola Johansen; brothers, Erwin Kaseforth, Edwin Kaseforth.

Lillian Adeline Kaseforth was born on March 3, 1923 in Stately Township, Brown County to John and Ottilie (Mueller) Kaseforth. On April 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Alvin Schiller in Wabasso. Lillian worked at 3M in New Ulm for twenty one years and then retired. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and baking. Lillian was very special to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known to them as “Grandma Lil”. Lillian was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm, LWML, church choir, Dorcas Society, and had taught Sunday school at church.
