Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the church with a prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a CCW rosary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.

John Nicholas Franta was born in Wabasso, Minnesota on June 7, 1932 to the late Otto and Theresa (Schwengle) Franta.

John served in the U.S. Army for two years.

John is survived by his wife Ruth; children, Catherine Schwarz of Wabasso, Jeanne Burtzel of Cold Spring, Karen van der Hagen of Baxter, Michael Franta of Maple Grove, Janet Bryson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Thomas Franta of Wabasso, Jane Odenthal of Albany; 25 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and twin sister Joan Gerteisen.
