SPRINGFIELD – Ernest J. Vogel, age 75, of Springfield died on Aug. 27, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Springfield, on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Raphael’s Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and will continue on Friday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the church.
Ernest Joseph Vogel was born JanJ. 8, 1941 to William and Minnie (Matzke)Vogel in Springfield. Ernie served in the Army from 1959 to 1964, serving some of his time as a paratrooper.
He is survived by his wife Nancy of Springfield; children: Tim Vogel of Springfield, Dan Vogel of Comfrey, Pat Vogel of Springfield, Becky Veenstra of Springfield, Mark Vogel of Lamberton, Mike Vogel of Springfield, Bill Vogel of Comfrey; 19 grandchildren and siblings: Wenzel “Tony” Vogel and Eleanor Teicher, both of Springfield.
