Gibbon shuts down Searles
GIBBON — The Gibbon Reds rolled the Searles Grizzlies 10-0 in seven innings in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Thursday.
Dominic Rose earned the win for Gibbon, striking out 12 and allowing three hits and no runs with two walks in seven innings. At the plate, Rose was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, while Kaden Rieke, Devon Schwarzrock, Aaron Burns and Layton Hamre each had two hits. Sam Berkner and Josh Wasmund each had a hit and two RBIs.
Casey Lux took the loss for Searles, striking out two and allowing six runs on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings. At the plate, Nathan Vance had two hits for the Grizzlies.
Gibbon (4-3) plays at Hanska on Friday, while Searles (3-4) hosts Leavenworth on Sunday.
