Marlys Seifert
NEW ULM – Marlys Seifert, 83, of New Ulm died Friday, Aug. 12, 2016 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Deb Bergstrand officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Marlys is survived by her husband, Sylvester “Seab” Seifert of New Ulm; a daughter Denice (Scott) Hinrichs of Mounds View; a step-daughter, Karen Farrell (Richard Gurska) of Gibbon; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Dallmann of Pacifica, California; grandchildren, Seth (Kimberly) Hinrichs, Lara (Ian) Bronson, Meghan (Michael) Frehse, Jennifer Dallmann, Daniel (Maria) Dallmann; great grandchildren, Joshua, Abigail, Samuel, Lily, Cecelia, Elizabeth, William, Stella, Ava; step-sister, Marjorie Straumann of Kerrville, Texas; and a step-brother, Florian Drexler of Gettysburg, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Dallmann; and by a brother in infancy.
Marlys LaVonne Kohn was born Sept. 6, 1932 in Courtland Township, Nicollet County to Arthur and Luvella (Meyer) Kohn. She was in the 1950 graduating class of New Ulm High School. Following a previous marriage Marlys was united in marriage to Sylvester Seifert on Aug. 22, 1964 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She was employed by the City of New Ulm in the City Clerk’s office from 1959 until her retirement in 1991. Marlys enjoyed playing softball for BF Goodrich, traveling with her husband, fishing, growing and arranging flowers and especially being with her family.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Sunday School Program, Ladies Circle and the Endowment Program. Marlys was also a member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132 Auxiliary.
Her family would like to thank the staff at the New Ulm Medical Center and Oak Hills Living Center for the exceptional care and compassion she received throughout her stay.
