Marcella “Marcy” Myers

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Marcella “Marcy” H. Myers was born on July 11, 1946 in San Leandro, CA to Tom and Irene “Nanny” (Ridge) Eaton. She grew up and graduated from high school in California. She married Lloyd Myers on May 19, 1967 in San Francisco, CA. The couple lived in California for a short time and then moved to Iowa and later Sleepy Eye where they have lived the last 37 years.

While in Sleepy Eye Marcy worked as a cook at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center and Schultz Cafe and also did some housekeeping. She enjoyed raising animals, farming, bird watching, spending time with family and camping. She also enjoyed attending the Butterfield Threshing Bee and supporting the Humane Society.

Marcy is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Sleepy Eye; children, Kenneth Thomas Meyer (Dawn Kircher) of St. Paul, Irene Zinniel of Sioux Falls, SD, Ronnie (Kari) Myers of Sleepy Eye and Tim Myers of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, Cassandra, Bobbie, Hannah, Joseph, Matthew, Brandy, Johnathon, Jordan, Colten and Mason; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Menzel of Aitken, SC and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
