Arthur ‘Art’ Seidl

SLEEPY EYE – Arthur “Art” Seidl, Sr., 91, of Sleepy Eye died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Gil Mor Manor in Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with Monsignor Eugene Lozinske celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be 4:00 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 10:00 a.m. Monday in the St. Mary’s Catholic School Auditorium in Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the St. Mary’s Catholic School Auditorium in Sleepy Eye. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements. Arthur is survived by his wife, Rita Seidl of Morgan; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Rademaker of Sleepy Eye, Marlene Seidl of Sleepy Eye, Joyce and Kevin Bigalk of Austin, Jolene and Al Craddock of Morgan, Elaine and Robert Gajewski of Pulaski, Wisconsin, Rita and David Gehrke of Kenyon, Carol and Steven Bass of Dayton, Sandra Seidl of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Peggy Seidl, Daniel and Bonnie Seidl all of Sleepy Eye, Stanley and Karen Seidl of Carthage, New York, Mark Seidl of Sleepy Eye, Arthur Seidl, Jr. of Buffalo; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lynette Seidl; sister, Bertha Rothmeier; brother, Edmond Seidl; and son-in-law, William Rademaker.

Arthur Otto Seidl was born on April 27, 1924 in Stark Township, Brown County to George and Mary (Kral) Seidl. He attended District 45 & 46 schools. On June 25, 1952 he was united in marriage to Rita Goblirsch at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Arthur farmed in Mulligan Township, Brown County. He enjoyed playing the concertina and trumpet, fishing, playing cards, and spreading around his sense of humor. Arthur was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, St. John Society, Catholic Aid, and was past president of the Senior Citizens.
