Elisabeth Marie Zickler

NEW ULM – Elisabeth Marie Zickler, 93, of New Ulm died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor David Bendix officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.

Elisabeth is survived by her nieces, Margaret (Ellsworth) Steinbach and their children, Doris Koenig and her children all of Racine, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Heinz Zickler on June 9, 1994.

Elisabeth was born on March 31, 1921 in Bochum, Germany to Philipp and Emmilie (Goldberg) Uramer. On August 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Heinz Zickler in Bochum, Germany. In 1951 they moved to Arlington and in November of that year they moved to New Ulm. She obtained her U.S. Citizenship in 1957. Elisabeth worked for ten years in Bochum, Germany and sixteen years in the garment factory in New Ulm. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
