New Ulm Police
• Responded to physical domestic report at 7:21 p.m. Saturday. Police learned a man involved left earlier. A 30-year-old New Ulm man pulled into the driveway. He appeared to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. A 29-year-old female had minor injuries from an altercation. The man was cited for DWI and domestic assault. Reports went to Brown County Human Services, Brown County Probation, the Committee Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) and the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Stopped a vehicle for expired registration at 11:52 p.m. Saturday at Broadway and 13th Street South. The driver, a 42-year-old New Ulm man, was arrested due to an ignition interlock restriction and intent to escape tax. He was transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to Brown County Probation and the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
• Took a report of a broken vehicle window at 9:28 a.m. Sunday on the 1200 block of Minnesota St. N. Damage was estimated at $1,000 plus binoculars, valued at $60, were stolen. A report was done for documentation.
• Met with a 29-year-old Kerkhoven man who had a Kandiyohi County felony warrant for fleeing a peace officer, at 9:04 a.m. Sunday. The man was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to the Kandiyohi County Probation Dept.
• Talked to a 65-year-old New Ulm man at 9:24 a.m. Sunday who said he was scammed out of $16,000 after receiving an email that he should call his bank, Wells Fargo, about a compromised account. The caller advised the man to drive to the Mankato Well Fargo bank and send a wire transfer to a woman in League City, Tx. The man was advised his funds are likely gone but a report was sent to a police investigator.
• Took a report Monday from an 85-year-old New Ulm woman about a bicycle and walker, valued at $100, stolen from her residence. A report was done for documentation.
Redwood County Sheriff’s Office
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of County Highway 17 and 350th St. A male juvenile driving a Chevrolet Silverado rolled through a stop sign and collided with a Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Killyan Mayotte, 20, Redwood Falls. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Centra Care Ambulance assisted.
Sibley County Sheriff’s Office
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 1:11 p.m. Saturday on the 44000 block of 320th Street (CR 8), Sibley Township, about seven miles southeast of Gaylord. It was learned Lukas Johanson, 24, Cloquet, was reversing a 2021 International pavement sealer truck eastbound in the westbound lane of CR 8 when it collided with a parked, unoccpuied 2021 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Sibley County Public Works. Both vehicles had minor damage.
