New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries at Highway 14 and North Garden St. at 3:28 p.m. Sept. 17. Bruce Lee Parker, 47, New Ulm, was riding a TotGuard Rider adult commuter electric mountain bike eastbound crossing North Garden St. in a crosswalk by the Holiday station when he collided with a northbound 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by Donna Rose Portner, 69, Winthrop. Parker had serious injuries, the bicycle was damaged and the vehicle had minor damage. Portner wore a seat belt.

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash on the 500 block, 12th North St. at 10:24 a.m. Sept. 18. James Franklin Wieland, 91, New Ulm, was driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue eastbound on 12th North, drifted to the right, hit a utility pole near the alley and another utility pole near Minnesota St. Wieland had minor injuries and wore a seat belt.

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 9:49 p.m. Friday at Broadway and 9th St. South. Officers detected an alcoholic beverage odor and cited a 17-year-old North Mankato male.

• Took a report at 2:05 a.m. Saturday of a 20-year-old New Ulm female leaving a Southridge Road group home and not returning. She was reported to be in the Maplewood area.

• Took a report from Walmart at 8:14 p.m. Saturday involving four shoplifting incidents totaling $194.16 dating back to July. Officers contacted a 42-year-old New Ulm woman suspected of the thefts. She said she was not responsible for them. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Arrested a 39-year-old Springfield woman on an Isanti County warrant for 5th-degree drugs at 10:44 a.m. Sunday on the 1300 block of South German St. A report went to Isanti County Probation.

• Took a Walmart theft report at 5:02 p.m. Sunday of two individuals attempting to return stolen items with a total value of $93.98. A 35-year-old Morton woman was cited for theft. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a driving complaint at 10:04 p.m. Sunday at Kark Dr. and Meyer Dr. Officers found a 91-year-old New Ulm driver who said she had a difficult time staying in her traffic lane due to darkness. A medical evaluation request form was sent to the State of Minnesota. A report was done for documentation.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Reported a single-vehicle crash at 10:38 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 275th St., Redwood County. Joel Schoer, 43, Wabasso, was driving a tractor, hauling a farm tiller that detached from the tractor and crashed into the back of the tractor, pushing both vehicles into the ditch. Schoer was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The Clements Fire Department and Centra Care Ambulance assisted.

• Reported a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Redwood County Highway 6 and 180th Street at 3:29 p.m. Friday. Byamba Erdene, 29, Lamberton, was driving a Mazda SUV southbound on CSAH 6 and rear-ended un unoccupied GMC pickup hauling a farm tiller. Erdene exited the vehicle before it caught fire. She was transported by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries. Lamberton Ambulance/Fire, Wabasso Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at 2:04 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 60, Mountain Lake Township, Cottonwood County. A 2003 Buick LeSabre driven by Richard Charles Seydel, 74, Windom was eastbound on Highway 60, turning northbound into Mountain Lake when he collided with a 2011 Freightliner semi driven by Jadon James Schroepfer, 21, Sleepy Eye, who was westbound on Highway 60. Seydel was transported to a Windom hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Schroepfer was not injured. Both drivers wore seat belts. The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Lake Police/Ambulance/Fire and Windom Towing assisted.
