New Ulm Police

• Attempted to locate a suicidal 21-year-old New Ulm man at Saturday morning after he walk from his residence after making concerning comments. Police found the man who agreed to come to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center. He was later transported to New Ulm Medical Center for evaluation.

• Talked with a 34-year-old New Ulm woman at 3:22 p.m. Saturday who said she was involved in a physical domestic incident Aug. 29 that required her to seek medical treatment. She said her boyfriend, a 35-year-old New Ulm man, hit her on the right side of the head. Police tried to talk to the man but he refused to discuss the incident on Aug. 29. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of domestic assault charges.

• Talk to the parent of 12 and 11-year-old New Ulm boys who said his sons were harassed by some other juvenile boys. The group was involved in assaultive behavior last week and the parent was concerned for the safety of his two boys. Police talked to parents of the other boys who said the incident was not confrontational. A report was done for documentation.

• Stopped a vehicle for speeding at 10:41 a.m. Sunday at Broadway and 16th St. North. Police detected a marijuana odor from the vehicle. A 39-year-old Mankato woman was cited for speeding and an open cannabis package. A passenger, a 43-year Mankato man, was cited for open cannabis package. A report was done for documentation.

• Talked with a 70-year-old New Ulm woman at 11:08 a.m. Monday who said she noticed a $4,800 check posted on her online checking account. The woman called the bank and learned the payment has not been processed yet. An affidavit of forgery was completed and her account was closed. A report went to investigators.

• Responded to a domestic assault occurring on the 500 block of Jefferson St. North at 3:51 p.m. Monday on the 500 block, Jefferson St. North. A 38-year-old New Ulm woman told police she was attacked by her 17-year-old daughter who was arrested and transported to the Carver County Juvenile Detention Center. The mother had minor injuries. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for domestic assault by strangulation charges.

• Took a missing person report from a group home at 10:49 p.m. Monday. A 20-year-old New Ulm woman left home and she was believed to be in Maplewood. An attempt to locate was issued. The woman has yet to return home.

• Responded to the Microtel Inn & Suites on the 400 block, 20th St. S. for a report of an individual in distress. Police met with a 39-year-old Sleepy Eye man who appeared to be having a mental health crisis. The mobile crisis team was contacted for him. A report was done for documentation.

• Met with a 46-year-old New Ulm woman who turned herself in on a Brown County warrant at 8:48 a.m. Tuesday at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center. The woman completed necessary paperwork to satisfy the warrant and was released. A report was done for documentation.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a motorcycle crash on 250th Street just west of 345th Avenue in Jessenland Township, five miles northwest of Henderson at 2:32 p.m. Saturday. A 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Marshal Lemmer, 29, Minneapolis, was westbound on 250th Street with a large group of motorcycle riders. Lemmer ran off the road, entered the ditch and laid the motorcycle down. He wore a helmet, said he was not injured but was transported to a local hospital for possible injuries. Arlington and Henderson Ambulances and the Arlington Fire Dept. assisted.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash on TH 19 near 430th Street, Camp Township, rural Fairfax, Renville County at 7:18 a.m. Tuesday. Sylvia Nyambeki Muko, 45, Maple Grove, was driving a 2015 Ford Explorer westbound on Highway 19, swerved for a deer, left the road and came to rest on railroad tracks in the west ditch. She wore a seat belt but was transported to an Olivia hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fairfax Ambulance, Franklin Fire and Medical and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
