New Ulm Police

• Responded to a theft report at Walmart Supercenter, 6:39 p.m. Feb. 6. Two suspects, 30 and 31-year old New Ulm women, walked out of the store with a cart of $513.57 worth of automotive items. A loss prevention employee confronted them in the parking lot and recovered the items. The women were recorded on store surveillance video. Reports were sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash at 6:24 p.m. Feb. 6 on 627th Avenue (CR 2), near 330th Street, three and one-half miles south of Gibbon in Severance Township. Erik Morales, 35, Gibbon, was driving a 2021 Chevrolet pickup northbound on CR 2, lost control reportedly due to a malfunction, left the road and hit a tree. He was transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance for apparent non-life threatening injuries. Damage was moderate. Gibbon Police, Fire and Winthrop Ambulance assisted.
