New Ulm Police
• Stopped vehicle at 3rd North and German driven by a 24-year-old New Ulm man for a stop sign violation. He was arrested for 4th-degree DWI. A citation was issued. He was taken to jail.
• Received a missing person report at April 30 at 7:45 p.m. for a 90-year-old New Ulm woman living at Orchard Hill, not seen for about 90 minutes. She was located at CashWise Foods. She said she wanted to go shopping. Report went to Brown County Human Services.
• Dispatched to Subway on S. Broadway regarding a customer threatening staff at 12:23 p.m. May 1. The customer, a 22-year-old Mankato man was upset about a sandwich he said was not properly made and taking too long to remake it and ignoring him due to his race. He hit an employee on the arm. An employee tried to grab the man’s cellphone he used to try to record the incident. A disorderly conduct and 5th-degree assault report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
Minnesota State Patrol
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash report at 8:27 a.m. May 1, 2023 on TH 68 and Blue Earth County 42, Judson Township, Blue Earth County. Carlos D. Figuereo Villalona, 23, Mounds View, was driving a 2023 International straight truck southbound on CR 42 when he collided with a 2012 Kia Soul driven by Nancy J. Deopere, 83, New Ulm, who was eastbound on TH 68. Deopere was transported to New Ulm Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Villalona and a passenger, Jesus A. Dipiton, 20, Brooklyn Park, were not injured. All three people wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. Lake Crystal Ambulance and Police, South Bend Fire and Nicollet and Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Offices assisted.
