The above is a complete alphabetical list of those filing as candidates for city office prior to the annual city election, to be held Tuesday, April 6.
The contest on for City Treasurer is the engrossing topic. There are three candidates, William F. Muesing, Gottlieb Oswald and Christ. Sprenger. All are old residents of New Ulm and their qualification are well known to the voters. The three-cornered contest will be a lively one and there is considerable interest.
Councilor Candidates.
There is a contest in each of the four wards for councilor. The candidates, who have filed follow: First ward, John F. Gollnast, the present incumbent and Louis Brey, Jr.; Second ward, Dr. J. H. Vogel, present councilor, and Isidor Gleisner; Third ward, Ben. I. Vetter and Wm. Meyer; Fourth,ward, John G. Gronau, present incumbent and Otto Heymann.
Polling Places.
The hours of election are from 6 o’clock in the morning until 8 o’clock in the evening. The polling places are as follows: First ward, first precinct – Washington school; First ward,second precinct-Franklin school;Second ward, first precinct-City hall; Second ward, second precinct-Lincoln school; Third ward, first precinct — Armory; Third ward, second precinct-Lutheran school; Fourth ward, first precinct — Court house; Fourth ward, second precinct — High school.
