New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on snow packed roads at Bridge St. S. and Broadway at 7:56 a.m. Nov. 29. Dennis J. Penkert, 72, New Ulm, was driving a 2013 Dodge westbound on Bridge St. S., stopped for a stop sign, waiting to turn left/south on Broadway when the rear end of a 2021 Ford driven by Brittney S. Schmiesing, 30, New Ulm, slowed to turn right/north on Broadway and slid into the right rear of the Dodge. Damage was moderate to both vehicles. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at Center and Front at 9:23 a.m. Nov. 29. Lisa A. Gulden, 55, New Ulm, was driving a 2021 GMC Acadia southbound on Front St., tried to turn right onto Center and collided with a 2022 Chevy Equinox driven by James R. Thomas, 39, New Ulm, who was stopped for a stop sign on Center St., then slid while turning due to snowy road conditions. Damage was minor to the front end of the GMC and moderate to the left side rear door of the Chevy.

Springfield Police

• Responded to a domestic call at Van Buren Ave. N. and Sanborn St. E. at 12:47 p.m. Nov. 28. A 40-year-old Redwood Falls man was determined to have mental health issues. He went to Sleepy Eye Medical Center for medical attention.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash in snow and ice on U.S. Highway 169, Oshawa Township, Nicollet County. Maranda L. Wight, 37, N. Mankato, wasa driving a 2015 Chevy Spark northbound on Highway 169 and Hayden M. Barr, 19, St. Peter, was driving a 2005 Chevy Avalanche northbound on Highway 169 when they collided. Wight was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato with non-life threatening injuries. Barr was not injured. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, Nicollet Fire Dept., Mayo Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted.
