New Ulm Police
• Received a theft report from a New Ulm Medical Center patient at 6:15 p.m. Saturday. A patient who said they had many visitors in their hospital room reported the theft of a purse that contained a $50 bill, pen and hand sanitizer on Saturday.
• Received a theft report from the 600 block of 7th Street North at 1:51 p.m. Sunday. A 14-foot, lime green Courage kayak valued at $900, was reported stolen while next to a garage sometime between Friday night and Sunday morning.
• Received a one-vehicle crash report without injuries at 4:21 p.m. Saturday. A 2011 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Brenda K. Hofmeister, 60, was turning left onto North Highland Avenue from 7th North Street when she said the steering locked and the traction control lights came on. She said she was unable to complete the turn and drove over a median sign, breaking it off and causing moderate vehicle damage.
