The New Ulm Police Department is taking steps to establish an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(drone)program. The uses for a UAV would include facilitating operational planning, search and rescue operations, reconstruction of crime and/or crash scenes and assisting other departments within the city.

Minnesota State Statute 626.19 requires a law enforcement agency to accept public comment prior to utilizing UAVs. The New Ulm Police Department will accept public comment with submissions to be sent via email to
