Bernadotte to host Swedish concert;

host families needed for choir members

BERNADOTTE — The Vettern College of Music in Jonkoping, Sweden has chosen to return to Bernadotte to present its sixth concert in ten years. The 40-member choir will sing at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, rural Lafayette, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 24. The program will consist of choral music from different times and traditions.

The public is invited to the concert. A free will offering will be accepted to help the choir defray its costs.

Choir members will stay overnight in the area, before preparing to return to Sweden. The church is looking for a few more host families to provide overnight accommodations for choir members the night of the concert. The hosts’ responsibilities will be to pick up their students at the end of the concert, provide a comfortable sleeping area and bathroom/showers, provide breakfast, and transport them back to BLC to meet their bus the next morning. Those willing to help, or who would like more information, are asked to contact Deb Sjostrom at 276-0452 or sdsjostrom@centurytel.net.
