Brown County Sheriff’s Office issues burn ban

NEW ULM — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued a burning ban for Brown County at 9 a.m. Tuesday until further notice. Recreational campfires are permitted but must be contained by a ring of rock, cement, brick, or metal, must not be closer than 25 feet to any structure and be attended to. Charcoal grills, wood smokers, and propane or natural gas devices are not considered open burning. Wabasso terminates contractor in city water project

WABASSO — The city of Wabasso will be terminating the general contractor in an improvement project for the city’s water treatment facility and wells. That action came after the city learned the general contractor had an issue with their performance and payment bonds, said Wabasso City Attorney Matt Novak.
