4-H Rabbits get a bit silly for Funny Bunny show

Levi Bailey moves his rabbit “Darth Vader” through the obstacle course during the Funny Bunny competition.

Brown County Fair held it’s first every Funny Bunny Event Saturday morning.

Many different contests occurred, including an obstacle course, rabbit races, a costume contest, and relay races.

In the obstacle course, bunnies were timed for how long it took to get through the course. There were a variety of obstacles, including a ramp to walk over, a tunnel to go through, and a ring of fire made from pipe cleaners.

Many different bunnies took on the challenge, but only one bunny passed through the tunnel correctly–his name was Dr. Strange. Dr. Strange was the winner of the obstacle course and is the rabbit of Nora Bailey.

After the obstacle course, a straight shot race was performed, requiring the bunny to get from one side of the arena to the other in the quickest time possible.

Luna, who is the bunny of Taylor Wyczawski, won the race with a time of five seconds.

Following the individual rabbit races, the costume contest took place. The costumes included dinosaur, cheerleader, sleepover bunny, farmer, gentleman bunny, and wizard. Although every bunny rocked their outfit well, Everly Jensen’s bunny Panda won the costume, dressed as a farmer.

The Funny Bunny event returned to the bunny races following the costume contest.

The first of two different relay race events, the doe race, took place.

The relay race involved two bunnies going from the start line to the finish line. The first bunny would go, and when they reached the finish line, the next bunny would be placed in the arena to complete the race.

The winner of the doe relay race was Annika Wyffels with Chardonnay, and Greta Bailey with Astra, coming in with a time of 22 seconds.

The Buck relay came after with the same rules as the previous relay race. The winners of the Buck relay were Levi Bailey with Barrel, and Amos Beranek with Theodore. The duo completed the race in a little over a minute.

“I like bunnies because they are not too hard to take care of and easy to handle,” said Bailey after winning the relay. Bailey was proud to win as it showed he did have the fastest buck.

The overall fan favorite award was given to Lorelei Wyxzawski’s bunny, Sully.

Starting at $4.50/week.
