SLEEPY Eye — The Sleepy Eye Fire Department responded to a rural fire call received at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, on County Road 8, about a half mile from County Road 22.

Sleepy Eye Fire Chief Ron Zinniel said part of a grove burned and the side of a steel storage shed caught fire but damage was minor and nobody was hurt. Zinniel said firefighters were at the scene for about an hour.

“I’d like to remind people to be extra cautious and pay attention to dry conditions,” said Zinniel.
