Brown County is completing constructing a new alignment and roadway section of the existing Boundary Street from CSAH 29 to its intersection with the existing alignment of CSAH 13.
Brown County’s alignment will be an extension of CSAH 13 that will run from Nicollet County CSAH 21 to Brown County CSAH 29. This new alignment intersects with CSAH 29 at the same intersection as the existing section of North Highland Avenue from HWY 14 to CSAH 29.
City Engineer Joe Stadheim said during a recent New Ulm City Council meeting that with the road project coming to a close, staff believed it was important to have a consistent naming method for the corridor.
The would require renaming the Boundary Street section to North Highland Avenue to have one street name along the entire corridor from Center Street to North Broadway.

Stadheim said there should be no address conflict from this change.
This project will create a new intersection with KC Road, which will require a new alignment for the KC Road coming into North Broadway. Three homes with KC Road addresses will be disconnected from the street. Stadheim said staff will come back with a recommendation at a later meeting on how to identify these addresses.
