WASHINGTON, D.C. — Springfield Elementary School was recognized among eight Minnesota schools as 2022 National Blue Ribbon Schools Sept. 16.

The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Schools are recognized in one of two performance categories, based on all student scores, subgroup student scores, and graduation rates.

Other Minnesota schools named National Blue Ribbon Schools were Seven Hills Preparatory Academy, Bloomington; Lowell Elementary School, Brainerd; Churchhill Elementary School, Cloquet; Maple River West Elementary School, Good Thunder; Kimberly Lane Elementary School, Wayzata; and Lake Middle School, South Washington County School District, Woodbury.

There were 297 schools in the United States recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools.
