NEW ULM — The official grand re-opening and ribbon cutting for the Recreation Center will be postponed due to the recent failure of an Air Handling Unit (AHU).

The grand opening and ribbon cutting event was scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 24 but the unforseen failure of the AHU in the Vogel Fieldhouse forced a delay. According to a statement from New Ulm Park and Recreation, is the only AHU in the building that was not replaced during the recent expansion and renovation.

The Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place after this AHU is operational. The replacement timing is uncertain, due to pandemic supply chain delays. The public, will be notified when the new date is set.
