NEW ULM — The Martin Luther College (MLC) students are returning to campus for the semester.

First year students began moving in Thursday with the last of the freshmen class moving into the dorms Friday. The remaining MLC students will move over the weekend with classes scheduled to begin Monday.

The incoming freshmen class includes 162 students. Combined with the returning students, MLC will have around 660 students on campus this year.

Unlike last year, MLC is allowing the students to self monitor for COVID. Public Relation Director William Pekrul said students are welcome to wear masks if they want and the campus has quarantine space available if needed.

Another change from last year is the MLC cafeteria will eventually open to the public again this year. The cafeteria was a popular place for New Ulm residents to have a meal, but for the last year it was limited to students.

Starting at $4.50/week.
