Cars from every era entertain Orchard Hill residents

Staff photo by Clay Schuldt Classic and custom cars from every era lined up in front of Orchard Hill Thursday for a special car show for the residents.

NEW ULM — Orchard Hill hosted a car show Wednesday night. Classic cars from every era attended the event.

The event was organized by Orchard Hill activity director Kari Apitz with the help of New Ulm Autofest Club members.

“It’s a small classic car show for the residents,” Apitz said, “and it will help take residents back to their favorite era.”

Paul Maday helped organize the event. He said after Apitz contacted him about the car show, he contacted a few people who might be willing to bring cars. Maday said the turnout for the event was better than he thought. Around 20 classic and custom vehicles were shown in front of Orchard Hill. The cars represented nearly every era, from the 1930s to today.

The car show was outdoors, which with the COVID pandemic is still a concern. Outdoor activities were limited last month due to the excessive heat, but Thursday evening had perfect weather for the show.

The car show was not only fun for residents but it was an opportunity for friends and family to visit.
