New Ulm’s CAST Senior Center has reopened

NEW ULM — The CAST Senior Center, located in the Community Center at 600 N. German St, has reopened for activities. The Center is open 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Greeting Card Recyclers meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays; Cribbage is at 12:30 p.m., Scrabble is at 1 p.m., and Bingo is at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; Bridge and 500 are at 12:45 p.m. on Thursdays; Sheephead is at 1 p.m. on Fridays. Chair Exercise classes will resume this Fall.

These activities are free and open to the public for those age 55+. No reservations are needed and all are welcome!

In-person dining in the Cafetorium is not open yet. Senior meals can be delivered through Meals on Wheels (delivered between 11am and Noon), or meals can be picked up at the Community Center between 11:30am and 12:15pm. Please call 507-359-2243 by 1pm the day prior to reserve your meal. Suggested donation for a meal is $5-$8.55; the actual cost is $8.55. SNAP and EBT payments are accepted.

The CAST Senior Center is operated by the non-profit Community and Seniors Together organization. Our mission is to work with the community to help senior citizens maintain health, fitness vitality and independence. We also offer a free printed monthly newsletter, The Weaver, and online weekly newsletter, the Weekly Weaver, filled with information and resources specifically for seniors.
