Renville County COVID-19 cases more than double

RENVILLE COUNTY — Active COVID-19 cases in Renville County more than doubled from last week, according to Renville County Public Health.

The county weekly COVID-19 dashboard showed 45 active cases this week, compared to 20 active cases last week.

There were 27 positive cases for individuals aged 10-19, 26 for ages 20-20, 21 for ages 50-59, 20 for ages 60-69, 17 for ages 30-39 and 11 for ages 70-79.

There are 146 total cases reported in Renville County as of this week. Olivia had 34 cases, Renville 27, Hector 18, Bird Island 15, Sacred Heart 13, Franklin eight, Fairfax and Danube seven each, and Morton and Buffalo Lake six each.

One hundred and one people are no longer in isolation, and eight people have died in Renville County.

Case numbers by month spiked from 28 in August to 63 in September in the county.

Some 76.03% of the people with COVID live in private residences, and 7.53% live in long-term care/assisted living. No residence information was listed for 15.75%.

The active case rate per 10,000 county population was 30.797.

COVID-19 dashboard data includes cumulative deaths, cases no longer in isolation, active cases, active case rates, zip code COVID-19 data, trending monthly cases, age range of positive cases, places of residence and cumulative cases to date.

Confirmed cases by county, according to the Minnesota Department of Health Tuesday were: Blue Earth County 1,736; Brown County 196; Cottonwood County 229; Kandiyohi County 1,056; Le Sueur County 475; Lyon County 733; McLeod County 502; Nicollet County 547; Redwood County 178; Renville County 161; Watonwan County 535.

Brown County Public Health reported no new laboratory-confirmed cases Tuesday, as well as nine total hospitalizations, 15 active cases, 179 total recovered cases and two COVID-19-related deaths.

On Monday, Brown County Public Health reported one new case, 17 active cases and 177 total recovered cases.

On Sunday, Brown County reported 11 new cases.

Minnesota reported 98,447 confirmed cases, 2,020 deaths and 88,380 people released from isolation.

Statewide, 13,434 cases were confirmed for ages 20-24, 9,701 for ages 25-29, 9,362 for ages 15-19, 8,793 for ages 30-34 and 7,934 for ages 35-39.

Total confirmed cases by gender were 50,773 females and 47,078 males.
