NEW ULM — The Lions Club of New Ulm installed its new president, Diann Warta, at its Aug. 6 meeting. Two new members were also inducted: Lion Bradley Moldan and Lion Annette Perry. Due to the coronavirus, this was only the second meeting for the New Ulm Lions since March. The Lions are slowly returning to an abbreviated meeting schedule.

The Lions have cancelled their 47th annual Fly-In Breakfast for 2020, but hope to be back next year bigger and better.

The New Ulm Diabetes Walk sponsored by the New Ulm and Lafayette Lions will be held virtually this year. There will not be an organized walk. Instead, Lions will be asking for donations and for people to walk for a CURE for Diabetes on their own. Watch for ads and mailings asking for your contribution during the month of September. Donations can be sent to: Bob Schirlinger, 801 N Payne St. New Ulm, MN 56073. Checks to “Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation”. You can also go to https://www.gofundme.com/f/23istjx7g0.

The Annual Spring Raffle was also canceled. The club plans to revive the raffle in October with cash prizes totaling $1,000. Tickets will be $10 and will be available from any Lions member.

Starting at $4.50/week.
