“Memories of the Battle of New Ulm” reprinted

CINCINATTI, Ohio — The 2001 edition of “Memories of the Battle of New Ulm” went out of print, but has now been reprinted and is again available.

In 2001, historian Dr. Don Heinrich Tolzmann of Cincinnati, Ohio edited parts of Dr. L.A. Fritsche’s two volume “History of Brown County, Minnesota.” The rare book published in 1916, now out of print, contained a personal account of the 1862 Sioux Uprising, aka U.S.-Dakota War, published by Heritage Books, Inc., Westminster, Md.

Tolzmann obtained a gift of the Fritsche family history from Dr. Theodore Fritsche, and based his new edition on the work. The history includes an informative chapter on the history of the Fritsche family.

The new book includes a new introduction and full name index that facilitates access to the personal accounts, plus an appendix with information on Fort Ridgely, Indian treaties and the history of New Ulm. The book is available on Amazon.com
