NEW ULM — Phoenix Theatres Entertainment, LLC, in conjunction with local owner, Standing Room Only, LLC, led by New Ulm business woman Mary Ann Christensen, will reopen the Lyric 3 Theatre in New Ulm, on Friday.

Featuring classic film titles and some recent Hollywood hits, the theatre will begin selling tickets online by Wednesday. Having been closed due to the pandemic since mid-March, The Lyric will have limited hours and seating capacity, but will be open seven days a week featuring family classics and some evening adult titles.

During this reopening and for a limited time, all seats for all shows, every day will be $5. Once the Hollywood studios start to release new titles, the pricing for those films will return to the regular prices. Currently some studios are planning on new releases to start in August. Many safety protocols have been implemented for the reopening. These include all staff wearing masks and gloves when working, staff temperatures taken before every shift, plexiglass between customers and staff at the concession stand and box office, hand sanitizing stations throughout the theatre, social distancing suggested where possible, all customers are required to wear mask in public spaces, regular cleaning of seats and touch points throughout the theatre, spacing and limited seating to comply with the state limit of 25% capacity and touchless refills for the annual popcorn buckets and large drinks.

The recently remodeled theatre features new luxury, electric reclining seats that have extra padding for comfort and style. Attached trays accommodate snack and beverage of choice.

All concession offerings will be available and include Orville Redenbacher popcorn, Coca-Cola products, Icee drinks, candy, hot dogs, pizzas, nachos and soft pretzels.

The Lyric 3 offers a loyalty program to reward regular customers. Free memberships for the Motion Picture Points program will be available at the box office or online. The theatre is completely handicap accessible with special equipment to assist moviegoers who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or with low vision.
