SANBORN — A 37-year-old Reading man died in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 71 south of Sanborn, near County Road 41, Germantown Township, Cottonwood County reported at 11:50 a.m. June 25.

Ryan J. Klenken, 37, of Reading died in the crash while stopped in the northbound lane along with a 2015 International dump truck driven by Greg R. Boettger, 56, Springfield. A northbound 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by Jeffery W. Shaner, 64, Sanborn, rear-ended the dump truck which rear-ended the 2008 Silverado Klenken was driving.

All three drivers wore seat belts. Shaner and Boettger were transported to Windom Hospital. Alcohol was not involved. The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Sanborn and Jeffers Fire/EMS and Westbrook and Windom Police assisted.
