Bus parade

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Bus Line (NUBL) paid tribute to the students, teachers, administrators and staff in New Ulm with a School Bus Cruise.

Over 30 buses drove to the various schools in town. The convoy of buses started at Rive Bend Education District, traveled to the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools, then to New Ulm High School (NUHS), and back down to St. Paul’s Lutheran, Jefferson and the Middle School.

Staff at the schools came outside to watch and wave at the procession of school buses.

NUHS Principal Mark Bergmann said he felt better after seeing the buses travel through New Ulm High School’s parking lot.

NUBL owner and general manager Dean Hosna said the cruise was a shoutout to let schools know the bus drivers were thinking of everyone connected to the schools.

Hosna said when he put the call out for drivers to participate, he was able to fill all buses within three days.

“It just goes to show how much the drivers missed the kids,” he said.

He added the NUBL is always looking for extra drivers, and the cruise showed it was a job the drivers enjoyed.
