Rep. Brand endorsed for re-election in District House 19A

ST. PETER — Representative Jeff Brand, a small business owner and former City Councilmember from Saint Peter, won the endorsement Thursday of the Minnesota Democratic Labor (DFL) Party for State Representative in District 19A.

“We’re at a crossroads in Minnesota and across the nation – we cannot afford to go back to ‘normal,'” Brand said in a statement. “Even before we faced this horrific virus, we already faced a climate that is rapidly changing at our fiscal and existential peril. Our Minnesota River continues to be one of the most impaired waterways in the state. The American Dream is slipping out of the hands for many, forcing them to take multiple jobs to make ends meet.”

“I’ve carried your stories about health care costs that are soaring and that the coverage isn’t doing enough. You’ve told me that every child deserves a world-class education to prepare them for the future. And especially urgent now more than ever, I worked with you to create a system of fairer taxation and economic prosperity for all Minnesotans.”

“It has been an honor serving as your partner in Saint Paul, by working better together. I will continue to do so in 2021, elevating your stories and turning your priorities into legislation signed into law.” said Brand.

Brand has been endorsed by several organizations for the 2020 election, including Teamsters Joint Council 32, MAPE MN, and Inter-Faculty Organization (IFO).

The general election will coincide with the presidential election on November 3, 2020.
